Glittery Traditional Christmas Home Tour

It’s my favorite time of year! Christmas home tour time!! With an independent one year old running around the house now I didn’t have enough time to finish all the projects on my to do list for this year’s Christmas decorating, but that’s okay. I’m excited with what I was able to do and I hope you enjoy my glittery traditional Christmas home tour!

If you love it as much as I do, I’d love for you to share it on Facebook or pin it to your Christmas board!

Welcome to our home! A few week’s ago I shared this weathered bench makeover and it was also the beginning of my Christmas home tour decorating. When you come to our front porch you are greeted by a wagon of mini burlap Christmas trees that I made last year and a cute dog in an elf hat. Okay, maybe that last part isn’t always true but isn’t he precious! He pretty much hates me for it but that’s okay.

Anything for a cute picture, #amiright?

Honestly, when we bought our home the deciding factor was the beautiful big window right behind our front porch that I knew would be the perfect frame for our Christmas tree each year! Three years later and I am still in love! I have our Christmas tree lights on from the minute I walk down the stairs in the morning and it’s the last thing to get turned off each night before bed. Last week I shared all about this years silver & purple Christmas tree! If you missed it you can check it out here!

Below my tree are painter paper wrapped presents with bows I made using ribbon I already had. The checkered bin was the perfect edition to this year’s tree. My tree skirt I made a few years ago using red silk fabric and thick burlap ribbon from the craft store. That was before the blogging days though so there isn’t a tutorial but I promise it’s super easy and one day I’ll do a full tutorial on how I did it. Let’s just say…no sewing needed! The perfect project for me!

One thing that helped add the glam to this years tree was three silver garlands that I got from Target for only $3! I also picked up one to make a simple garland on my hallway wall. Once the Christmas cards start arriving I can easily add them to the garland with glitter clothespins. In the meantime, it’s the perfect spot to hold our family Christmas photos that we take each year.

The photo second from the left is from our first year married when we just had our little kitten, Molly. I love watching our family grow with these Christmas photos each year in front of our Christmas tree.

Behind our Christmas tree and next to the fireplace are the awesome floating shelves we built a few years ago. They also happen to be the perfect showcase for this years paper nativity scene that I am absolutely in love with! Lia Griffith is super talented and I could just ooh and aah over everything she creates. She provided the SVG file for this nativity scene and it makes the perfect focal point for my Christmas winter wonderland shelves.

You can get your own nativity scene cut file from Lia here.

I’ve filled my Christmas shelves with mini Christmas trees and personal items. The nutcracker is a keepsake from a family member who passed away a few years ago and a reminder that she’s always with us. A few of the skinny glitter Christmas trees are from Target but the rest are all diy-ed using yarn, ribbon, mod podge, and glitter. I love how they added so much sparkle and warmth to our shelves!

I picked up some snowflake slate coasters from the dollar section at Target. They were the perfect touch to my World Market inspired coffee table.

I love our home and more importantly I love that happiness and warmth at Christmastime! I pretty much just want to hibernate all December long and never leave my home.

Thanks for joining me for this years Christmas home tour!
