As I start planning a party, I always like to plan a wow factor. What can we do or have at the party that people will remember? What is something that will help make memories that people won’t forget the second they walk out the door?
I like to think that all of that time and energy I put into planning a party will not just be for one day. I want someone to feel special, guests to feel loved, and friends to have a good time.
And a big piece of that, is not just planning that time, but capturing those memories. I am a HUGE picture person. I’m not going to lie, I have a terrible memory. I swear some days I’m competing against the memory of a goldfish, so capturing those memories are even more important. Hence, one of the big reasons I have a blog and why there are over 12,000 photos on my iPhone and it crashes every day telling me “memory near full”. It’s a problem, you guys!
I love capturing these memories and being able to look back at all the fun we had, the people that came, and feel like I’m back at that day. And you know how I do it at parties? My absolute favorite way to capture those memories and that wow factor I’ve planned at the party is with this….

For my daughter’s first birthday party. All the guests took pictures with Clara and then wrote messages to her in a little scrapbook that we’ll add to each year.
At my sister’s woodland themed baby shower we wrote notes to the new mommy to read when she needed a pick-me-up and included pictures to bring her a smile. These turned out so great! See more about this baby shower game here.
We also used the instax mini 8 on my birthday to capture some cute pictures of this sweet girl celebrating in her party hat. She wasn’t all smiles but hey, at least they still turned out super cute!
