Show off your holiday decor with a gorgeous modern white, silver, and black ombre Christmas tree this year. So many fun Christmas home decor ideas.
If you know me IRL then you know that I start listening to Christmas music around June or July every year and my husband knows if I’ve had a rough day if he walks in the door and hears Christmas music blaring. It’s my therapy!
Since this is our first year where we have Thanksgiving quickly followed by three birthdays within 6 days of each other I was easily able to convince Justin to let me put up our Christmas tree this year. Que the happy dance!
We usually go a more traditional route with silver ornaments and glitter. You can see last year’s tree here.
This year though we wanted something a little more us. A little more modern with black and white.
I LOVE how it turned out! Each section — white, silver, and black — has a combo of different size ornaments, ribbon, and something extra in each area.
It was a little difficult finding black ornaments so I just took some of the white and silver ornaments and spray painted them. I poked toothpicks through a box, popped the tops off the ornaments, and then set the ornaments on them to easily spray paint them.
I had so much fun wrapping and decorating presents this year. This black herringbone wrapping paper from the new Hearth and Hand Collection at Target was the perfect fit for the look I was going for!
The tree skirt is just 1.5 yards of buffalo check flannel I picked up at Joann’s Fabric.
I love the combination of matte, gloss, and glitter ornaments I’ve collected. Most came from Michael’s with the exception of a large pack of white and silver ornaments from Target and a set of these beauty’s from the Hearth & Hand collection.
This little tree was a gift to my 3 year old. When she heard we were putting up the Christmas tree, she insisted she have her own. Lucky for me, Michael’s had these little mini trees for just a few bucks on a sale weekend so I nabbed one for her. She spends HOURS decorating her tree now. So cute!
And can we talk about the stockings for a minute?
Confession…the stockings we’ve used the past two years were an embarrassment. Two of them were from the dollar store and one was grabbed off a shelf from Target and was literally the very last red stocking our store had last year.
We needed new ones. When I saw the stockings from the Hearth & Hand Collection at Target I knew we needed them! They matched perfectly and were SUCH a good deal! How could I resist?

- Noel wood sign was bought on clearance at Michael’s after Christmas last year and I spray painted it white
- Stocking holders are from Target (this stocking holder is pretty similar to the one I have)

- White and silver mini Christmas trees on the shelves were DIY projects from last year’s holiday home tour. See it here.
These ornaments from Amazon would be a great way to get a few different colors if you want to do a similar style Christmas tree for a decent price and they come in different finishes.
I love how this tree turned out and I’d love to hear what you think! Too bold? Is it weird having black ornaments? What do you think?
