11 Small Ways to Lead a More Joyful Life

We all deserve more joy in our lives. We all deserve to wake up filled with happiness and jubilation about life and the wonderful things we have ahead of us. That’s why I’ve put together a list of some surprisingly small and simple things you can do to add more joy into your life right now.

  1. Curate your home

One of the best ways to find more simple joy in life is to curate your home decor so that it is a place that you really love. Many of us have homes that are far from our ideal with more stuff than we need, causing us more stress than is helpful, and with decor elements that we don’t truly love, which do not spark good feelings in us when we are nearby.

By taking time to really curate our home and ensure that everything in it is something we love and/or need, and that our decor choices reflect who we are and what we love, we can easily find more joy in our life at home, and who wouldn’t want that?

  1. Live in the moment

If you want to experience more periods of joy in your life, then you need to stop dwelling on things that have happened in the past or worrying about things that may or may not ever happen in the future.

We find joy in the present moment, so you need to spend as much time as possible living in the now and appreciating what is unfolding in front of you. There are lots of things you can do to achieve this from learning how to meditate and practice mindfulness to using medication or Delta 9 THC Gummies to control your anxiety so that you are not worrying about things that have not yet happened, for example, and you should try as many of them as you need to in order to be more present in the moment.

  1. Smile

This might sound overly simplistic, but there is lots of evidence to suggest that simply smiling, even if you do not particularly feel like doing so, can make you feel happier. Not only that, but if you smile at someone else, you will make them smile and therefore feel happier, too. Smiling is powerful and infectious, so if you are looking for the most simple way to lead a more joyful life, it has to be smiling!

  1. Start saying no!

Say “No” to anything that you do not want to do and free up more time for the things in life you love.

Obviously, there are some things, like work and looking after the kids that you will need to do no matter what, but there are lots of extras, like staying late at the office, and attending events, that you do not necessarily need to do, and if you think you would not enjoy doing them, you should say so instead of agreeing to any and all commitments and then regretting doing so.

We only have a finite amount of time on the planet, so it is important we make the most of it if we want to be as joyful as possible. Say “No” more often!

  1. Help people

That being said, if there is an opportunity for you to help people, then you should probably take it, provided you are helping them in a way that is meaningful to you. Studies have shown that helping others makes us happier, and if you help out with a cause you truly care about like feeding the homeless or helping abandoned pets fina d a new home, for example, then it will make your life more meaningful, and the more meaning you have in your daily life, the happier you are likely to be.

Helping people also helps you to set a good example for your kids so that they will grow up to be happier, well-rounded individuals too.

  1. Exercise

If you want to find more joy in your life, then you need to be healthy, and exercising regularly will go a long way to helping you with that. Not only that, but when you exercise, your body releases endorphins, which make you feel happy and full of joy. So, be sure to get your heart pumping and your body moving for at least 30 minutes each day if you want to be a bit more joyful in your life.

  1. Have a hobby

We all know that all work and no play make Jack a dull boy, which is why, if you want to lead a more joyful life, you should have at least one hobby that you do just for you. Whether you take up knitting, head out hiking or learn how to play the piano, having a hobby helps you to unwind, learn new skills, and take some time just for you and your own personal development.

People who have hobbies are happier, healthier, and tend to live longer than those who do not take time out for a pastime, so if you do not already have a hobby, start exploring them now.

  1. Get grateful

Keeping a gratitude journal, which simply means making a list of 3-5 things you have been grateful for that day, before you go to bed, is a really simple way of leading a more joyful life.

If you do this regularly, you will start to train your brain to look for the good stuff in life, even if it is only something simple like drinking a nice cup of coffee or a pleasant walk in the park, and you will start to appreciate life’s little joys a whole lot more. This will make it so much easier for you to find happiness in life.

  1. Get out in the garden

Spending more time in nature is also an excellent way to find more joy in life. For one thing, fresh air is really good for your body and mind, and spending time in nature has been shown to boost mental health, lower stress levels, and even lower your blood pressure! Watching the goings on of the local wildlife, from bees to birds, will also help you to feel more relaxed and able to enjoy the simple beauties of the world around you. So, if you have a garden, spend more time out there, and if you don’t, make a point of heading to a local park or nature trail as often as you can.

  1. Forgive

Forgiveness is not always easy, but if you can work on forgiving people who have hurt you, then it means you will not hold on to negative emotions for longer than necessary, enabling you to move on and find the joy in living a life free of the burdens that come with holding on to past events.

  1. Work on it

Some days, you will wake up in a bad mood and everything will go wrong for you. Instead of succumbing to the negative and letting it drag you down, work on finding the joy by meditating, going for a walk, working hard to turn the situation around, or whatever you can to add some positivity and joy will never be too far away.

As you can see, there are lots of small ways to lead a more joyful life that you and your family should think about embracing if you want to lie the happiest, healthiest, most meaningful life possible. So, what are you waiting for?
