36 Weeks

36_weeks

Happy Halloween!! I am so not a Halloween person so this is the closest we’ll get to dressing up this babe this year. Maybe next year will be a different story.

How far along? 36 weeks. Only one month to go!

Maternity clothes: Of course

Sleep: Going great! Some nights I even sleep straight through still.

Food cravings: I’ve been wanting Chinese food quite a bit lately but maybe that’s just because it’s delicious!….or maybe I can call it a craving?!

Nausea: No. A few nights I have felt sick to my stomach but only because this little one is super active in the evening and she feels like worms sometimes invading my stomach.

Symptoms: Short of breath because my lungs are squished by this tiny human taking over. Having some rib pain because of her position. Sometimes it feels like she’s pushing off my hip bone with her hand and karate chopping my ribs. Super fun! But honestly I wouldn’t change it for anything. I love feeling this little one inside of me.

Total weight gain: The past few weeks have been rough and the scale shows for it. So far 29 pounds gained.

Movement: See symptoms above. But it’s pretty constant. I love feeling her flip over and feel like she’s practically going to burst through my skin as she tries to find the room to turn.

Gender: Hopefully still a girl.

Labor Signs: As of my appointment tonight, I am 50% effaced but not dilated any yet. I am now taking evening primrose oil and raspberry young shoot drops to help get my body prepared for labor.

Belly button in or out? In…and pretty deep still.

Wedding ring on or off? On. Still haven’t had any swelling in my hands.

Happy or moody? Hmmmm. If you ask my hubby, he’d probably tell you I’ve been pretty emotional lately….which isn’t like me. But I think it’s more just feeling overwhelmed with so much to do rather than hormonal.

Best moment this week: Feeling like we are making progress on the nursery. Did a final coat of polycrylic on the dresser Monday (post coming soon!) and now just waiting for it to finish drying (about a week) and then I’ll be able to put clothes away and get everything set up. Also, went to the pumpkin patch with our friends and had them take some photos of us since we chose to not get professional maternity photos done to save money. I think they turned out pretty awesome!!!

Looking forward to: Working on baby’s quilt I started two years ago. Finally set it all up today to give me space to work amongst all of baby’s stuff that seems to be taking over the house right now.

  1. You are getting so, so close! You look great in the photos and I love those colors on you, and I especially love that scarf! This is such a fun season to have a baby, my daughters birthday is Nov. 21st and I named her Autumn. :) Happy Halloween!
